All pediatricians agree that outdoor play on the playgrounds is of vital importance for both, mental and physical health of children. Although the playground should be place for entertaining that is safe for your kids, unfortunately, this is not always the case. It is quite shocking that every year, more than 200,000 kids are treated in hospital as a result of playground – related injuries.
In this article you are read the story of Kiley Cook from Grandbury, Texas. She was playing with her friends and suddenly experienced severe pain. The reason for that pain is that the girl was beaten by a copperhead snake which is very dangerous breed of snakes that causes serious injuries. This snake can kill a human being with only one bite.
Nataly Horn is mother of this girl and at this unfortunate moment was at school and immediately rushed to help her child.
At the same moment, Kiley was flown to Cook Children`s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, where she received antidote therapy.
According to statistical data of Cook Children`s Medical Center, every year, there are about 17 – 25 children who have experienced snake bites.
This little girl experienced terrible symptoms. Her mother explains that her fingers, arm and the entire hand were swollen, and her finger turned entirely black.
After this accident, employees of the playground claim that they will thoroughly examine the entire playground before they allow children to play outside. Still, as a matter of fact, these dangerous animals very often are completely undetected and there is no 100% guarantee for total protection.
It is important to mention that this specific type of snakes mostly is found in North America, especially in North East. Because of that, all parents and employees constantly should monitor their kids when they are on the playground. Keep in mind that adult supervision is the best way to prevent any kind of accident and injury.
